Dash and I have watched quite a few folks try eBikes...
…and the overwhelming response is simply this:
"It's so easy—it's just like riding a bike, but with a push."
There are many misconceptions about what an eBike actually is, and chances are you’ve seen one today—they're everywhere now. Why?
Because they really are as simple as riding a bike. And if you learned that once, you haven’t forgotten.
Let's look at some common reason folks are reluctant to try an ebike:
🚴💨 “It’s too fast. I’ll lose control.”
That’s a fair concern—but here’s the truth: the motor doesn’t do anything unless you tell it to.
You’re still pedaling, and the bike just helps a bit. It’s not a scooter, and it doesn’t “take off.”
You’re in control the whole time—just like a regular bike, but with a tailwind that shows up every time you start pedaling.
🚵⛰️ “I haven’t ridden in years. I’m too out of shape.”
Let me stop you right there. Most of our guests haven’t ridden in years. Some haven’t ridden in decades.
That’s why we have step-through frames, comfortable saddles, and gentle assist levels.
You pedal as much—or as little—as you want. It’s not a fitness test. It’s a way to enjoy the island.
🚲 “I’m not a bike person.”
Neither is Dash. He rides in a trailer and supervises.
You don’t need to be “a bike person.” You don’t need special clothes, or clip-in shoes, or technical knowledge.
You just need a sense of curiosity and the ability to ride a bike. We handle the rest.
🔋 “What if the battery dies?”
It won’t. We send out every bike fully charged, and we’ll tell you exactly how far you can go.
If you’re unsure, we’ll suggest a route that gets you back with room to spare.
And if something does go wrong? You’ve got Tom’s number. You won’t be left alone.
🕶️ “I don’t want to look silly.”
You won’t. We’ve had guests of all ages try these bikes.
No one looked silly. Everyone looked like someone enjoying their day.
🐾 Final word from Dash:
“I’ve seen a lot of people start nervous.
By the time they roll back in, they’re smiling and talking about where they’ll go next time.
So if you’re unsure… that’s fine. But don’t let that stop you from trying something easy, quiet, and whole lot of fun.”
